I am Sherita Gaskins-Tillett, board-certified Ob/Gyn, mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, wellness enthusiast, event planner, and last but far from least, recovering hot mess!

Almost 10 years ago I was a new wife, new mother and working as a full-time Ob/Gyn. I found myself lost in my own life. I was living on autopilot. On the outside things looked great-- thriving practice, solid marriage, beautiful family. On the inside I was drowning. I felt like I was failing at everything. My house was a mess. My finances were in disarray. I was exhausted and defeated. I couldn't believe that I had worked for so many years to build a life that felt like this.

There was no community where I could safely share my thoughts and fears. I suffered in silence believing that I was an outlier who couldn't get her stuff together. I muddled through until a well-timed vacation changed everything. Sitting on the beach, away from the noise and responsibilities of my life I could finally hear my own voice and it was screaming, "I am not well. This is not sustainable". That break in my routine gave me time and space to assess and plan. I started researching wellness and whole life healing. I invested in my personal development by taking classes, attending conferences and retreats, and reading books. I found my tribe and learned that I was not the only one experiencing feelings of overwhelm and discouragement. These resources and the community support transformed the way I thought about myself, my career and everything related to my life. I discovered that I had the ability to make different decisions about my life, but I was choosing to be helpless and stuck. I started owning my power to change things. I began by making small changes which gave me the courage to make bigger ones. Fast forward to today. I now live with intention, no more life by default. I now live fully present in alignment with my priorities and core values.

I share this long story to tell you that you are never really stuck. You have the power to change your life but first you must change your thoughts and the way you see yourself and your life. It is imperative that you get crystal clear on what you want your life to look like and make a plan to go from where you are to where you want to be. It is essential that you find a community of fellow dreamers to support you along the way. I began journey alone on a beach, now I help other high-achieving women find their path through the Boss Lady Dream Builders Community and virtual and in-person events.

You only get one life, please don't squander your time feeling miserable and defeated. Do whatever you need to do to build a life that you love!
