Live Out Loud
I just celebrated a milestone birthday, the big 5-0. 😱 I feel like I was 25 just yesterday! It has gone by so quickly! I have been blessed to achieve many of the goals I set during my younger years. However, I have allowed many opportunities to pass me by because of fear, procrastination and taking time for granted.
Somewhere along the way I adopted the habit of making myself small. I decided I was background and often tried my best to blend in with the walls, especially in social situations. There were places I wanted to go, people I wanted to meet, songs I wanted to sing and chances I wanted to take but I was afraid of failing and afraid of being judged. When I think of all those years I wasted denying my authentic self, I am tempted to feel remorse. Instead, I’ve decided to let those feelings of regret inspire me to spend these next 50 years living out loud.
💙 I’m going to own my voice, it deserves to be heard.
💙 I’m not going to allow fear to keep me from doing the things I was created to do. My gifts were meant to be shared with the world.
💙 I will not deny my personhood. I am a designer original, born to stand out, no more hiding or blending in.
💙 I am no longer a thermometer measuring the temperature around me and making myself fit the circumstance. I am a thermostat. I set the atmosphere in my life.
